Abstract

Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are one of the leading cause of mortality in 
India. One in 4 death in India are now because of CVDs with ischemic heart disease.Chronic 
inflammation may be a contributory factor in the growing prevalence of Coronary Artery 
Disease (CAD). Ferritin has been labeled as new marker for evaluation of chronic inflammation 
and its course in coronary artery disease.
