Background: Accurate diagnosis and classification of primary anorectal fistulas are essential
for successful surgical treatment. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is increasingly used as
a preoperative tool to assess fistulous tracts, internal openings, and associated complications.
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of MRI in diagnosing, grading, and assessing
primary anorectal fistulas and to correlate MRI findings with intraoperative surgical
outcomes.
